General Information
Classroom Rules and Procedures:
It is expected that every student behaves in class. When rules are followed, students will be rewarded. However, when students do not adhere to the classroom rules or procedures, consequences will be given.
Examples:
Rewards: praise, treats, homework passes, gift certificates, becomes a teacher helper, ability to learn in an environment conducive to learning, etc.
Consequences: verbal or written warning, parent contact (phone call, note or email), lunch or after school detention, office referral or parent conference, etc.
"The Book":
Every student has a page in "The Book." The Book documents every time your child is unprepared for English class. After three entries in "The Book," your child will be assigned "lunch" detention. If your child continues to be unprepared, a parent conference may be necessary.
Homework Credit:
100 = "Totally" Complete Work
70 = Incomplete Work
64 = Late Work (Next Day ONLY!)
0 = Work Not Submitted or "Barely There" Work
The Lunch Bunch: (Attention Parents!!!!!)
In an effort to support your child in Language Arts and to ensure that s/he is able to keep up with the concepts/skills being taught in class, students will meet during lunch for extra help. When homework is not submitted, done incorrectly, and/or tests/quizzes are not passed, it may be necessary to enlist your child in The Lunch Bunch. The Lunch Bunch will meet during lunch in Room 215 in order to review concept/skills being taught in class, and/or complete any missed homework assignments. Please make sure that your child returns The Lunch Bunch form that was distributed in class.
